Creación de parcelas demostrativas para el adiestramiento de los productores en el manejo de plantaciones de café en la zona de Matanzas1

Abstract
Starting from February of the 2015 the work was developed with the objective of creating demonstrative parcels for the producers training of the plantations management of C. canephora P. in the Matanzas province. The diagnosis was carried out using the analytic method, evaluating the registration of plantations and the observations in situ, where the different places were characterized keeping in mind the soil type, state of technical attention to the plantations, plantation mark, sanity, witnesses or not of shade for the cultivation, the desuckering and the pruning’s. With the results of the initial diagnosis of the properties a development program of each property were established that included the application of appropriate technologies according to each case. Were selected and characterized 9 properties with appropriate conditions to establish them like demonstrative parcels, located in the different municipalities of the Matanzas province. The physiologic state of the plantations, the reached level of survival and the diagnosis results carried out indicated the possibility to develop the coffee culture in the territory. A development program that included the application of the most appropriate technologies for each selected property and a calendar with the main activities for the management of the plantations settled down.
