Experiencias del proyecto recuperación, desarrollo y mejoramiento de la producción agroecológica del cacao en el municipio de Baracoa, Cuba

Abstract
In 8 Basic Units of Cooperative Production dedicated to the cultivation of the cocoa in the municipality Baracoa, Guantánamo province, from February of the 2013 until September of 2014 the project ”Recovery, development and improvement of the agroecological production of the cocoa in the Baracoa municipality” was implemented, with the objective of contributing, by means of the training and the technical attendance to the improvement of the conditions agro-techniques of the plantations to recover and increase its productive potential, applying results scientifictechnicians of the Estación Experimental Agroforestal of the territory. To reach this purpose was carried out a diagnosis to each one of the productive units, for which different techniques of obtaining of data were used, as the application of a survey to the producers, the revision of documents, interviews and the observation, starting from that which the training necessities were identified, with what a program was elaborated with 288 actions that it also included students of the teachings primary and half superior, with the creation of 3 circles of interest and the participation of 18 students of the Agronomic Polytechnic Institute Limbano Sánchez, located in the area of influence of the project. As a result were carried out 427 training actions, in those that participated a total of 6 203 producers, as well as 11 extensionist, 18 students of the secondary education and 19 of the primary teaching, those that appropriated of the imparted matters and their cognitive level and technician increased.
